Reel Affirmations XTRA “Countries and Closets” Presents the World Premiere of: Satyavati...and we call this love

Rayceen Pendarvis was invited to host Reel Affirmations XTRA “Countries and Closets” Presents the World Premiere of: Satyavati...and we call this love.  The film is India’s first feature film on lesbian hate crimes.  Its primal focus is to let the audience understand that lesbianism is not a disease that needs to be cured; it is as natural as heterosexuality.

The screening of Director/Producer Deepthi Tadanki's film was officially presented by Reel Affirmations XTRA “Countries and Closets,” which features films that depict the lives of individuals who live in countries where to be LGBTQ is illegal or banned.

Reel Affirmations - Washington DC’s International LGBT Film Festival - is one of the largest LGBT film festivals (in terms of attendance) in the United States.  Each month the organization consistently offers new and exciting international, documentary, short, and feature films, as well as panel discussions, filmmaker Q&As, and various celebrations.  

The theatrical screening was held at the Human Rights Campaign Equality Center in Washington, DC.

The Virtuous Woman Bridal Gala - No Compromise

Rayceen Pendarvis was invited to host The Virtuous Woman Bridal Gala - No Compromise.  The fashion show was designed to assist conservative brides in finding affordable and quality wedding and special event professionals within the metropolitan area of Washington, DC.  

The event featured over 50 vendors, including wedding planners, pastry chefs, limousine companies, wedding decorators, and much more.  Guests were treated to hors d'oeuvres, a live band, complimentary swag gift bags, in addition to a flawless bridal show with fashions by Pearlena Designs and gowns by David's Bridal.  

Also on hand at the event were Minute Events Catering founder Chef Steven Wilson, fashion designer Jacqueline Chase Hudson, and wedding planner  Jon'll Boyd.  Guests were also invited to enter a contest to win a Virtuous Woman Bridal Package with a value over $10,000.

The 8th annual gala was sponsored by Minute Events Catering, LLC and held at the Largo Community Church Ballroom in Mitchellville, Maryland.
