Nothing to Hide - Minority LGBTQ Mental Health
Rayceen Pendarvis was invited to serve as a panelist for an intersectional panel discussion titled "Nothing to Hide - Minority LGBTQ Mental Health". Streamed on Facebook Live, the discussion aimed to “bring awareness to the unique challenges of LGBTQ minorities with mental health - especially people of color - and the various options available for self-care and treatment.”
The discussion was presented by The Human Rights Campaign’s Team POC Employee Resource Group, in partnership with Impulse DC, Whitman-Walker Health, and Mental Health America. The event was held at The HRC Equality Center in Washington, DC.

Reel Affirmations XTRA Presents: 195 Lewis
Rayceen Pendarvis was invited to host Reel Affirmations XTRA Presents: 195 Lewis. The film focused on a group of friends navigating the realities of being Black, queer, and polyamorous in New York City. Set in the heart of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, the series follows Yuri and Camille as they test the boundaries of their open relationship.
Yuri’s growing infatuation with a new lover leaves Camille uncertain about her role in Yuri’s life. Thankfully, she has an immature and drama-prone younger sister Anne to offer some distraction. Tensions continue to build though, when Yuri’s old college friend Kris shows up unexpectedly in need of a place to stay.
Reel Affirmations - Washington DC’s International LGBT Film Festival - is one of the largest LGBT film festivals (in terms of attendance) in the United States. Each month the organization consistently offers new and exciting international, documentary, short, and feature films, as well as panel discussions, filmmaker Q&As, and various celebrations.
The dramedy series was screened at the Human Rights Campaign Equality Center in Washington, DC.
